Commercial Relationship Officer/Team Leader

We are seeking to add a seasoned business development officer to build a portfolio of business deposit customers, especially in defined industry segments.  In this role you will help build a team of industry experts who will serve their market as trusted advisors and guide that team to reach their goals.  You will also join a forward thinking community bank with a thriving commercial banking business.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and guide a team of Commercial Relationship Officers. Manage, monitor and report production versus goals on a periodic basis via CRM system.

  • Achieve deposit growth goals through development of new customer relationships and management and cultivation of existing relationships.

  • Uncover referral opportunities within the customer portfolio and effectively introduce business partners to meet additional banking needs.

  • Execute highly focused prospecting activities through cultivation and relationship building within targeted industry segments.

  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of customer's financial condition and needs.

  • Coordinate closely with Cash Management, Operations and Retail business partners to ensure effective onboarding of new relationships and delivery of consistent service going forward.

  • Identify and participate in relevant industry associations, advocacy groups, trade shows, etc., to build awareness of Avidia within the targeted industries.

  • Identify suitable COI networks and build and execute an outreach strategy designed to elevate Avidia’s brand recognition in the marketplace and build referral sources for potential business.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Lending Officers to address lending needs when appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the bank’s deposit products and service offerings.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, advanced degree or certifications a plus

  • Seven years of Business Development experience with thorough knowledge of a defined industry segment.

  • Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships through consultative selling, ongoing relationship management.

  • Experience in banking and knowledge of treasury and deposit products.

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills to concisely communicate Avidia Bank’s value proposition.

  • Team building and management skills to interact with business partners across functional lines to provide a seamless experience for customers.

  • Solid technology skills and understanding including use of business software applications including MS Office Suite, CRM(Sugar preferred), mobile and on-line banking applications.
