Accessing your Home Equity is getting an upgrade!
Starting on 8/1/2021 Avidia will no long be issuing Home Equity (HELOC) checks with new lines of credit. Customers will be upgraded to more convenient and secure options.
We remain committed to updating our product offering and technologies to meet the evolving needs of modern banking. While consumers and business still rely on checks to conduct banking transactions, the volume has decreased over the years and the risk of account theft and fraud continues to rise.
Through this upgrade, customers will be provided with alternative ways to advance their HELOC funds, allowing them additional convenience, security and overall better customer experience.
What if I currently have HELOC Checks? Will they still be honored?
We have a few options available to you. You can use your Avidia Mobile Banking App, Avidia Online Banking, or use telephone banking by calling 888-290-INFO and select 5 to transfer funds.
- Fraud Risk: HELOC checks continue to present a significant risk of fraud for customer. By using alternative methods, we can mitigate this risk.
- Security: Using online and mobile banking for your HELOC will allow you to keep a close eye on your money and you can even set up account alerts about certain transactions.
- Convenience – customers can advance funds directly from their HELOC to their checking account through online/mobile banking, making it readily available when you need it.
- Rewards: By using funds transferred into your checking account, you’re eligible to earn rewards when make purchases with your debit card.
We recommend that the best way to make use of your HELOC funds is through an Avidia Bank Checking Account. This allows you to access your funds quickly and securely.
This feature is not available. HELOC transfers and auto-payments can only be conducted between internal deposit accounts.
